tattoos

Welcome! I’m currently on my 2nd year of machine tattooing. Please take a look at some examples of my work below. I mainly do black linework and grey-wash shading, plus some color fills.

My technique is still improving! I’ve been thankful and lucky enough to have a ton of support and patience as I continue to grow. Check out my Instagram if you’re interested in following my journey and released flashes as I study something new – whether it’s a tattoo technique, a new style, or illustrative subject matter.

Studio located at The Workshops in Glendale, CO.

It’s a small, but cozy space for private tattoo sessions. Me and my studio-mate share this little space together and are excited to name that our door is open for appointments! Go check out Stevie’s work. For their website, click [HERE].

faq

I would like a tattoo but currently don’t have any. What can I expect?

You can request a free consultation to discuss what you’d like your first tattoo to be, or go ahead and request a session and we can go from there. I would talk you through my process and ask if you have any questions before scheduling an actual session.

I strive to make clients feel comfortable, heard and seen. Tattoos are painful, but the process doesn’t have to be. I’ll do my best to make sure each person has a positive experience.

What does a consultation consist of? Is it free?

A tattoo consultation is typically requested when you have a vague and loose idea of a custom design you would like. We would have a verbal discussion or digital exchange of exactly what you are wanting. Sketches are not included during the initial consultation. A consultation does not confirm a tattoo appointment.

Do tattoos hurt? What areas of the body do you tattoo?

Yes. Tattoos are typically painful, and vary depending on the individual and the area getting tattooed. Let me know which area on the body you are considering and we can talk about the sensitivity levels.

At this time, I do not tattoo on heads, hands, feet, or other sensitive areas such as armpits.

What styles can you do?

I currently focus on black linework, with some grey-wash shading. Color is a bit limited for me, but not off-limits. Feel free to ask about color in your request.

If I showed you an image, can you directly tattoo it on me?

Depending on the image or reference, I maintain the right to decline the request. Copyright can lead to potential lawsuits. A stylized custom design of an intellectual property is possible, as long as the image is altered or stylized differently.

There are also “artist vouchers” available from some illustrators. This is a payment towards the original artist, that allows written permission for another artist to use their work.

What are your rates and payment expectations?

Currently, I am charging an “apprenticeship rate.” Considering my experience in tattooing, I will be charging a lower rate throughout my first year. This rate will increase over time and whenever my overhead increases, such as a higher cost rental space.

Here is an example of my rate. Please note that consultation and setup time do not count, and the cost of creating a custom design be included into the final price.

Black/Greyscale Hourly: $50/hour

**Color will be additional. Please ask**

What about deposits?

Due to previous “no call or no shows,” a policy has been put in place to ensure any future incidents do not occur. Weekends are the most requested time slots, and require a $50 deposit to book. Weekdays are a $25 deposit.

A deposit is required before confirming a tattoo session.

***Deposit rates are scheduled to change in the future**

What do you mean by “sliding scale”?

“Sliding scale is a form of mutual aid that recognizes that money is a barrier to access. This barrier to access may affect women more than men, queer/gender-non-conforming+ folx more than straight allies, BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color) more than white people, persons with disabilities more than those without.” -sourced from Medium.com

This can come in different forms, and is dependent on each client and their situation. Sliding scale is NOT a discount. It can be a form of “pay what you can,” an equivalent trade in goods or services, or a “pay it forward” model.

What to avoid before getting a tattoo?

Aspirin, alcohol, and high amounts of caffeine should all be avoided the day leading up to your tattoo, as they thin the blood. Instead, you should stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, eat a big healthy meal, and be sound of mind the day of the session.

What should I wear for my tattoo session?

Anything that is comfortable and is accessible to the area getting tattooed. Nothing too tight. Feel free to bring a change of clothes to choose from. Do not wear clothing that you worry might get stained, especially bright clothing and expensive attire.

Can I bring a friend/partner/family member with me?

You are welcomed to bring one additional human with you. Whether that’s for support or just wanting to share space during the tattoo session. Due to the current studio space limitations, please do not bring more than one more person. There is an open lounge on the top floors where others can wait.

When should I NOT get tattooed?

If the area you are wanting to get tattooed has skin sensitivity such as eczema, recent scars especially burn scars. Or any chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis.

If you have any blood disorders, pregnant or breast feeding, taking any medication that causes blood thinning.

If you are sick, feeling weak, or had a recent surgery. Getting tattooed while you are sick, exposes the tattoo artist, and also creates more work for your body to heal. Please reach out to me to reschedule if you are feeling sick.

If you plan on going into a body of water within a month of getting tattooed. Submerging your new tattoo into water (including baths) during the healing process can lead to infections.

*Final note: If you are unsure, please consult your primary physician for advice.

My inquiry isn’t listed here, can I contact you with my particular question?

Yes! Please allow me time to respond to any and all questions.
